Graham Parkins, David Parkins, Zim Geldenhuys and Andre Lotze put up a good show with "local" Midgets. Unfortunately JP Botes and Ruaan Jordaan were early retirements and there were no sign of Francois de Witt's entry. Gary Linders and a non entry driver collided and could not continue. Super Midget's Shaun delivered as promised but Kyle Huddlestone battled the whole evening with an off song motor and eventually got a bit of a feeling of the car in the final race which he could complete. Regarding the "local" Midgets, the numbers are there, it is now just a matter of getting all the cars to run together for even a better show. Any suggestions for a proper name for the "local" Midgets to distinguish it form the expensive Super Midgets. But please not B Class Midgets as they cannot be measured according to Super Midgets as inferior. Most of these cars are locally built, less expensive than Supers and provide good racing in a class of their own. To protect and grow the class they should never compete with Supers as it creates a wrong perception with spectators. Supers are welcome, just bring the numbers.
